Dear ‘Party In The Park’ and ‘Into The Fields’ Supporters. In light of the recent events around COVID-19 and following instructions from the Government and other relevant authorities, we wanted to keep you up to date with all the latest news and developments regarding this year’s events. The government are not enforcing the stoppage of mass gatherings at this time, but the UK’s Chief Medical Officer has forecast that the country will still be dealing with the situation until the end of May, right when we would be enjoying Party In The Park.

As a consequence of this ongoing situation, the local authority has had to make the decision to not allow any large gatherings or festivals on their land for the foreseeable future. This directly affects not only Party in the Park, but also Into The Fields festival. Postponing is our ideal option, but we need to find a different venue for both festivals, at short notice, to ensure we are able to plan and deliver a successful event for you all. With all this in mind, we have made the decision to reschedule and combine Party In The Park and Into The Fields festivals together, into one amazing festival on the 28th 29th and 30th August (Bank Holiday). For this year, the festival will go by the name of Party In The Fields!

We have been working behind the scenes on a number of contingency plans with the Council, as well as the acts involved in both events. The most challenging issue we have faced is finding a venue suitable to host both festivals together, but we can confirm that Party In The Fields will be held on August Bank Holiday at Tranwell Airfield in Morpeth, if licensing is approved. This is a truly amazing new venue with plenty of parking and room for a vast amount of camping. We appreciate that this is not as convenient a location as we would like, but to ensure this has as little impact on you, there will be a FREE and REGULAR bus service from both Blyth and Morpeth town centres on all three days of the festival for all crowdfunders and ticket holders.

In addition, and as a gesture of good will for all we are going through, any ticket already purchased will now come with FREE camping. We hope the bus service and offer to camp give you some reassurance that whether you return home each day or decide to stay, you will not incur any additional cost. We feel, as event organisers, this is a more responsible, proactive decision in regards to our duty of care to you. This also gives us more time to monitor and plan around the situation, ensuring the event and everyone attending is kept safe.

Not only that, we understand people could struggle financially and this extra time, we hope, will help people get back on their feet and come and enjoy a great weekend. Your weekend or day tickets already purchased will cover your entry for this event. If you cannot make the new date your tickets will still be valid for next year’s events. Finally, both Party In The Park and Into The Fields ticket holders will now benefit from a 3 day line up from some of the UK’s best tribute acts and many of the best local cover bands. Plus, we have a very special surprise that is going to blow the festival away. We have already confirmed much of the line-up with many of the same bands playing from both festivals. We are confident that this is going to be one of the best festivals around and hopefully a good way for us all to celebrate the end of this dark time.

We hope you understand that this wasn’t a decision that has been taken lightly and we hope that you understand how and why we have taken the action we have. We feel that it is our responsibility to support and protect the welfare of you, the Great British public. We want both festivals to be here to stay and it is only with your support this can happen. Please help us to make this an amazing event that we all need. Many events this year will not be able to continue this year & in the years ahead. This may well be one of the only local events of the Summer. If you cannot make the new dates that is understandable and we can offer free tickets for either of the events next year when we will hopefully be back to normal.

We will be very flexible with changing day tickets for other days and offering tickets for next year’s events as we understand the chaos this can cause. If we all stick together this will be something very memorable and we can build on last year’s successes. We will still have to monitor the situation closely and continue to follow instructions from the Government around public safety, but we will keep you informed of any further news and developments as they emerge. The most important thing is to stay safe though this time.
